Doctor Livingston has a regular presence on the news and current affairs programmes, due to his political interests in rural medicine.

There are a number of articles relating to this, and also to his most renowned news story, helping to save the life of Dean Margetts, the famous AFL Umpire.

Dean Margetts was onbard the same plane as Dr Michael Livingston in March 2016, when he suffered a burst stomach ulcer. Dr Livingston used the limited Medical equipment on-board to stabilise Mr Margetts and Diverted the plane to Adelaide where Dean received life-saving surgery.
